Clinical Laboratory Sciences (B.Sc.)

The Bachelor of Clinical Laboratory Sciences is a four-year undergraduate program offered by the School of Allied Medical Sciences at Shahroud University of Medical Sciences. The program prepares highly qualified laboratory professionals with the scientific knowledge, analytical abilities, and technical expertise required to contribute to disease diagnosis, treatment monitoring, public health, and biomedical research.

The curriculum combines a strong foundation in basic medical sciences with advanced laboratory education. Students receive comprehensive instruction in clinical biochemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, parasitology, mycology, molecular diagnostics, genetics, laboratory quality management, and laboratory safety. In addition to theoretical knowledge, the program emphasizes the development of practical laboratory skills, analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and professional ethics necessary for modern clinical laboratory practice.

Practical and clinical training is an integral part of the educational program. Students participate in supervised laboratory rotations within the University's affiliated teaching hospitals and accredited diagnostic laboratories, where they gain hands-on experience in specimen collection and processing, operation of automated laboratory analyzers, performance of diagnostic tests, quality control procedures, and interpretation of laboratory findings using contemporary laboratory technologies and international quality standards.

Graduates are qualified to work in hospital laboratories, diagnostic and reference laboratories, public health laboratories, research institutes, blood transfusion centers, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, and academic institutions. They also have excellent opportunities to continue their education through postgraduate programs and participate in research projects in laboratory medicine, molecular diagnostics, and other biomedical sciences.
