Environmental Health (B.Sc.)

The Bachelor of Environmental Health is a four-year undergraduate program offered by the School of Public Health at Shahroud University of Medical Sciences. The program is designed to educate environmental health professionals who protect public health by identifying, assessing, and controlling environmental factors that may affect human health and well-being.

The curriculum integrates environmental sciences, public health, engineering principles, and health management to provide students with comprehensive knowledge in water and wastewater quality, air pollution control, solid and hazardous waste management, food sanitation, environmental microbiology, environmental toxicology, occupational and environmental risk assessment, environmental health regulations, and sustainability. The program also develops students' analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills to address contemporary environmental health challenges.

Practical education is an integral part of the program. Students participate in supervised field training in environmental health departments, public health laboratories, water and wastewater treatment facilities, food industries, municipalities, and healthcare organizations affiliated with the University. During these training experiences, students perform environmental inspections, sampling and laboratory analysis, environmental monitoring, risk assessment, and implementation of health protection measures in accordance with national and international standards.

Graduates are qualified to work in environmental health departments, hospitals, public health organizations, municipalities, environmental protection agencies, food industries, water and wastewater companies, research institutes, and environmental consulting firms. They may also pursue postgraduate education and research in environmental health, environmental sciences, public health, and related disciplines.
