Public Health (B.Sc.)

The Bachelor of Public Health is a four-year undergraduate program offered by the School of Public Health at Shahroud University of Medical Sciences. The program is designed to educate qualified public health professionals who promote community health, prevent diseases, and improve the quality of life through evidence-based health interventions, education, and policy implementation.

The curriculum integrates biological, environmental, behavioral, and social sciences with public health principles. Students acquire comprehensive knowledge in epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, occupational health, nutrition, health education and promotion, communicable and non-communicable disease prevention, maternal and child health, healthcare management, and public health research methods. The program also emphasizes analytical thinking, leadership, communication skills, and ethical practice to prepare graduates for multidisciplinary healthcare environments.

Practical education is an essential component of the program. Students participate in supervised field training within healthcare centers, community health facilities, and public health organizations affiliated with the University. During these training experiences, they develop practical skills in community health assessment, disease prevention, health education, health promotion programs, epidemiological surveillance, and public health planning while working alongside experienced faculty members and healthcare professionals.

Graduates are qualified to work in healthcare centers, hospitals, public health organizations, governmental agencies, non-governmental organizations, research institutes, and international health programs. They may also pursue postgraduate education and research in public health and related disciplines.
