Dr. Emamian: Unity Among University Community Members Supports National Strength and Progress

The National Flag Day ceremony was held at Shahroud University of Medical Sciences (SHMU) to mark the beginning of the new academic year, with the participation of Dr. Mohammad-Hassan Emamian, President of Shahroud University of Medical Sciences, along with faculty members, staff, and students.

In his remarks, Dr. Emamian congratulated the university community on the beginning of the new academic year and paid tribute to the memory of the country’s martyrs. Referring to the national flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran as a symbol of national identity, dignity, and independence, he stated that honoring this national symbol provides an opportunity to reflect on the responsibilities we bear toward the future of Iran. He added that, alongside its educational and research missions, the university has a responsibility to foster a generation that is knowledgeable, capable, and committed to serving society.

The President of Shahroud University of Medical Sciences, referring to the beginning of the academic year and the return of students to the university environment, emphasized that universities serve as centers for the advancement of knowledge, the development of ideas, and the transformation of knowledge into service. He noted that the academic community can contribute significantly to technological development, the promotion of public health, and the enhancement of the country’s capabilities by drawing on its scientific and professional capacities. In this regard, he highlighted the importance of professionalism, adherence to ethical principles, and the responsible use of knowledge and experience.

Emphasizing the importance of unity and cooperation among all members of the university community, Dr. Emamian stated that achieving the goals of both the university and the country requires the participation of all sectors. He noted that faculty members, staff, and students each have an important role to play in this process. He further emphasized that a commitment to national interests, a spirit of service, and making effective use of educational and scientific opportunities can pave the way for valuable achievements for society.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Dr. Emamian described the transmission of national values and a sense of responsibility to future generations as an important duty of the academic community. He expressed his appreciation for the presence and efforts of faculty members, staff, and students, wished them success in the new academic year, and called for the continuation of the path of knowledge, service, and the advancement of Iran.
